OUR HISTORY – StL Print week started in 2016 as a collaboration between Eric Woods, Owner of The Firecracker Press, and Marie Oberkirsch, Director at Central Print. The purpose of Print Week is to celebrate St. Louis printing history, showcase local printers, and bring a growing wave of printers to St. Louis to talk about their work.

In 2016 we collaborated with the Amalgamated Printers’ Association (est. 1958) and organized their annual Wayzgoose (printers party), offering workshops, panel discussions, trivia, a letterpress movie night, a Print Market, and more. Novice printers and master printers came together to tell tall tales, share tricks, and talk about the future of letterpress printing.

In 2017 we collaborated with Ladies of Letterpress (est. 2007) to add Print Week to their Regional Conference! Last year boasted tons of workshops (taught by the world’s best),  guest speakers from around the globe, a private suffragette/print-history tour of Bellefontaine Cemetery, and a Print Market to buy/sell printed goods.

FOR 2018 – We had so much fun last year that we decided to collaborate with Ladies of Letterpress once more for Print Week 2018; our third annual print conference. We’re offering a deep bench of letterpress workshops, we have the finest minds leading our panel discussions, the Print Market is better than ever, and there are opportunities to meet, share, and learn like never before.
